23 KILOMETERS MARE MARATHON
MARE, a mountain climbing festival was initiated by the government at Idanre, a mountainous community last year.According to the state, the 23 kilometre Mare Marathon on December 10, 2010 will cover from Akure, the state capital to the ancient city of Idanre.Idanre hills is the highest mountains in the southern part of Nigeria.
Walking Holidays
“MARE” meaning “don’t fall” is an International mountain climbing festival, holding every year in Idanre, Ondo State, SouthWest, Nigeria. It celebrates the Land, the people and its rich culture. The 2013 edition of the annual fiesta featured various local and international professional artises who had packaged interesting songs to make the festival interesting.
